Privacy and Terms
Privacy Policy
In short: ShapePeek opens your 3D files on your device and keeps everything there. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and the app does not send your models or your data to us.
Who we are
ShapePeek: 3D & CAD Viewer (“ShapePeek”, “the app”) for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android is published by NEURAFIT S.R.L., Corso Italia 214, 52027 San Giovanni Valdarno (AR), Italy, VAT no. IT02512130515, REA AR-223872, certified email (PEC) neurafit@pec.it (“we”, “us”), which is the data controller. For questions about this policy or your data, write to info@neurafit.it.
This policy follows the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, “GDPR”).
What the app does with your files
ShapePeek is a read-only viewer for STL, OBJ, 3MF, glTF and GLB files. It opens only the files you choose, renders them on your device’s graphics processor and never writes back to the original files. Your models are never uploaded anywhere by the app.
On Android, files you open from other apps (Files, Drive, Gmail, WhatsApp and others) are copied into the app’s private storage, because Android gives apps access to a file rather than its location. The copies stay on your device, are visible only to ShapePeek and are deleted when you clear the app’s storage or uninstall it.
The Quick Look extensions, which show previews and thumbnails in Finder and in the Files app, also run on your device and read only the file being previewed.
What stays on your device
The app stores a few things locally so it works the way you left it:
- your settings;
- the list of recently opened files;
- your ShapePeek Pro status, cached so Pro also works offline;
- the name, email address and phone number you type in the “Print it in 3D” form, kept only to fill in your next request.
This data is not sent to us and we cannot see it. Deleting the app deletes it.
What we do not collect
The app has no account or sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no crash-reporting tools, and it contains no network code of its own. We do not receive your files, your usage data or any identifier of your device.
Permissions
- Camera: asked only when you choose “Camera” to take a new photo to use as a texture, a Pro feature. The photo is used inside the app and is not sent anywhere.
- Photos, add only: asked only when you save a screenshot to your photo library. This permission does not let the app read your library.
Choosing an existing image from Photos uses the system picker, which gives the app only the image you select and needs no permission. You can change permissions at any time in your device settings.
On Android the app asks for no permissions to use the camera or your photos: “Camera” opens the system camera app and “Photos” the system photo picker, which give ShapePeek only the picture you take or choose, and saving a screenshot adds it to Pictures/ShapePeek without access to the rest of your gallery. The app declares only network access, used by Google Play to handle purchases.
Purchases through Apple and Google
ShapePeek Pro is sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase. Apple processes payment and billing as an independent data controller under its own Privacy Policy. We never receive your payment card details. The app checks with Apple whether Pro is active on your Apple Account and keeps that status on your device.
On Android, ShapePeek Pro is sold through Google Play Billing. Google processes payment and billing as an independent data controller under its own Privacy Policy. We never receive your payment details. The app checks with Google Play whether Pro is active on your Google account and keeps that status on your device.
“Print it in 3D” and Maker House
“Print it in 3D” is a free, optional feature to request a print quote from Maker House, an independent Italian 3D printing service (makerhouse.it). When you use it:
- the app exports the model (STL or 3MF) and a screenshot, and opens your device’s Mail composer with a message addressed to info@makerhouse.it, or the share sheet if no mail account is set up;
- nothing is sent automatically: you review the email and decide whether to send it, from your own mail account;
- we do not receive the email, the attachments or your contact details.
Once you send it, the email and its attachments are handled by Maker House as an independent data controller under its own privacy policy, available on its website. Any quote, order or payment is between you and Maker House, outside the app.
This website
This website uses no analytics or tracking scripts.
The site is hosted by Aruba S.p.A. (Italy), acting as our data processor. Like any web server, its servers record technical data needed to deliver the pages and keep them secure, such as your IP address, the date and time of the request and the page requested. We use these data only to run and protect the site (our legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), we do not use them to identify or profile visitors, and they are deleted automatically after the period set by the hosting provider.
Children
ShapePeek is not directed at children. The app collects no personal data from anyone, children included.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing and to data portability. Because the app keeps your data only on your device, you can view, change or delete it there yourself. For any request about data we may hold, for example an email you sent us, write to info@neurafit.it.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Italy this is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
Retention
Data stored by the app stays on your device until you change it or delete the app. If you write to us, we keep your message only as long as needed to answer it and to meet our legal obligations.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will publish the new version on this page with a new date and version number.
Terms of Use
These terms apply to your use of ShapePeek. By downloading or using the app you accept them.
Licence
The app is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”). These terms complement the Standard EULA. NEURAFIT S.R.L., not Apple, is responsible for the app and its content.
On Android, the app is distributed through Google Play and your use of Google Play is governed by Google’s terms. NEURAFIT S.R.L., not Google, is responsible for the app and its content.
Free and Pro
The free version lets you view models, use standard views, edges, wireframe, X-ray, the part tree and the exploded view, take screenshots with a small ShapePeek credit, use Quick Look previews and thumbnails (on Apple devices), and request a print with “Print it in 3D”.
ShapePeek Pro adds measurements, section planes, hiding and isolating parts, part properties, moving and rotating parts, materials and textures, and clean screenshots up to 4×.
Purchases and subscriptions
Pro is available as:
- ShapePeek Pro Monthly: auto-renewing subscription, €2.99 per month;
- ShapePeek Pro Yearly: auto-renewing subscription, €19.99 per year, with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers;
- ShapePeek Pro Lifetime: one-time purchase, €49.99, no renewal.
These are the Italian prices. Prices vary by country; the price that applies is the one shown in the app before you buy.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account or Google account when you confirm the purchase or, for the Yearly trial, when the free trial ends.
- Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account settings or, on Android, in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
- Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
- On Apple devices, purchases can be shared with your family through Apple Family Sharing, and offer codes can be redeemed through Apple. On Android, promo codes can be redeemed in Google Play.
- Purchases made on Apple devices and on Android are separate: Pro bought through one store does not unlock the app on the other.
- On a new device or after reinstalling, use “Restore Purchases” in the app.
Refunds and the EU right of withdrawal
Purchases are made through Apple or Google, so refunds are handled by them under their terms: at reportaproblem.apple.com for Apple, and in Google Play (Order history) or at support.google.com/googleplay for Google. We cannot issue refunds ourselves.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a contract for digital content. If you ask for Pro to be unlocked immediately and acknowledge that you lose this right once the supply starts, the right of withdrawal may no longer apply. Withdrawal and refund requests go to the store you bought from. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under the law.
Acceptable use
Use ShapePeek lawfully. Do not copy, modify, reverse-engineer or redistribute the app except where the law allows it, do not try to bypass the purchase system, and do not use the app to infringe other people’s rights.
Your files
Your models, screenshots and exports remain yours. We claim no rights over them, and the app does not upload them. You are responsible for having the right to open and share the files you use, including those you send to a print service.
Third-party services
“Print it in 3D” only prepares an email to Maker House. Quotes, printing, delivery and payment are provided by Maker House under its own terms; we are not a party to that contract. Purchases are provided by Apple or Google under their terms.
Disclaimer and liability
ShapePeek is a viewer. Measurements, sections and previews depend on the files you open and on your device: check critical dimensions against the original data before you manufacture or rely on them.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect losses, or for loss of data or profit, arising from the use of the app. This does not limit liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or any right you have as a consumer under Italian and EU law, including the legal guarantee of conformity.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live and you can bring a claim before the courts of your place of residence.
